Rental Program General Information

Mandatory Footwear

As we are located in a tidal water area, we see a daily fluctuation of water levels (high tide & low tide). During low tide, the sea-bed floor is host to thousands of oysters and clams that can be found 5km up river. Although these guys act as a natural filter for our waterways, their exterior shells are extremely sharp and potentially dangerous. It is for this reason, that footwear is mandatory for all participants using a kayak or SUP.

Neoprene booties work the best for paddling activities. You can also use sandals that stay tight and old running shoes. Try to avoid crocs and flip flop style footwear, as they fall off easily while swimming.

Making a reservation for your rental is preferred and will guarantee the best paddling experience possible!   Making a reservation allows our staff to take care of the details for you and place you on the water during the best time of day, due to tides and weather. You can make a reservation by calling our shop (506) 532- 8914, or messaging us on Facebook.

Waiver Process

Each participant will be required to  read and sign our “Information and Liability Waiver.” Participants under the age of 18 will require the signature of an adult over the age of 18.

Equipment Fitting Process

All participants are properly fitted by a staff member with a Canadian Coast Guard Approved PFD. Your personal flotation device is designed to save lives and will be required to be worn at all times while on the water.

Safety Briefing and Intro Lesson

Our staff take the time to ensure all participants have a fantastic experience. After the equipment fitting, we walk you down the dock for a 15 minute safety briefing and beginner lesson. For our experienced paddlers our staff are here to give pointers and answer questions. Upon your return from paddling, our staff will always be there to greet you and find out how your paddle went.

Emergency Response

In the event of a serious emergency, participants are required to bring their own method of communication,(water-proof dry bags for cell phones are for sale in our retail shop). Depending on the seriousness of the emergency, we ask that you immediately call our shop (506) 532-8914. Our staff are trained in the event of an emergency and will contact emergency services (911) if needed. We have a safety boat that can be used in the event of an emergency.
